NEW LOW COST AIRLINE PRAYER-AIR LAUNCHED

- Saves Costs by Not Doing Maintenance. Press Releases

The above airline is of course fictitious and would not have many customers. We expect aircraft we fly on to be well maintained and not drop out of the sky. Airlines in fact have very strict maintenance schedules and use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) software to control all of their maintenance operations.

CMMS, which is also known as Enterprise Asset Management, is a software package which contains a central database of information about an enterprise’s maintenance operations. This information is used to help maintenance staff do their jobs more effectively as all equipment related data including inventory, costs, resources and service history is stored in one place. Besides airlines, CMMS is used in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, property management, hotels, banks and hospitals.

however most companies still manage their equipment and machinery reactively, dealing with failure when it occurs resulting in a loss of productivity. This approach in fact increases costs.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing Co. Ltd (CIMCO) has introduced CMMS-Net; a web based version of their successful CMMS client server product. CMMS-Net is designed with a user friendly interface so all data is presented logically, making the system easy to understand and operate, integrating preventive maintenance work orders, scheduled work orders, inventory control, and purchase request management as well as providing full cost and history information.

CMMS-Net has been developed using the latest in web technologies and thus the user connects using an Internet browser. This allows users to get up and running quickly – without having to install anything on client machines. Employees, subcontractors, requesters, and management can access CMMS-Net from wherever they are using an Internet browser. Organizations with multiple sites can easily keep their maintenance records in one place

Commenting on the new release, Victor Batchelor, CIMCO’s Managing Director said

“We took a totally different approach with the design of CMMS-Net. It was designed by our consultants after asking our customers what they wanted so we have an easy-to-use browser-based application that can help any organization increase asset life, track maintenance costs, prevent and predict equipment failures, improve labor productivity, reduce costly equipment downtimes, minimize investments in inventory, and lower the total cost of maintenance”
